Cherry is the name given to several species of trees, some of them fruitful and others producing noble wood. These trees, reddish brown in color, are classified in the subgenus Cerasus included in the genus Prunus, and come from America. The leaves are simple and usually lanceolate, entire and with a serrated edge. It is a wood of medium hardness which ends up giving it good resistance. It is normally applied to floors, stylish furniture, high quality joinery, doors, boat interiors and musical instruments.
