The tree Liriodendron Tulipifera, better known by the common name American Tulip, is one of two species in this genus of tree. It is native to eastern North America and is considered one of the largest and most beautiful trees in this area. It can reach 50 meters in height and a trunk 2.5 m in diameter in virgin forests. It is fast growing but without the common problems of low intensity and short duration. It is normally used in coatings, musical instruments, furniture and joinery.
