The National chestnut is sometimes described as the poor man's oak because it is strong and durable. As can be seen from the development of the bark on the living tree, the thread is straight or twisted, but contrary to what one might think, it does not tend to be reversed. Chestnut is an excellent quality wood used in construction and also widely used in furniture and interior decoration, a great tradition in the north of Portugal.
We commercialize National Chestnut in planks. Dimensions upon request.
