Oak is the common designation of several hundred species of trees of the genus Quercus of the Fagaceae family, originating in America. The fruit of the oak tree is called an acorn and its bark has a light brown hue. It is a wood of medium to high hardness, which ends up giving it good resistance. It is usually applied in furniture, flooring, civil construction, carpentry, interior and exterior carpentry and cooperage.
