Beech is a robust tree that can reach 35 to 40 meters in height, with a straight trunk and normally a smooth, white bark. Beech wood needs fresh, fertile soil in environments that are not too shady. It is a wood of medium hardness but not very durable. It is usually applied in interior carpentry, coatings, furniture, tool handles, musical instruments and toys.
